The Writing Process

As a student I've spent countless hours, days, months, years just writing papers. As a creative I've spent double the time writing to write or express my feelings that day. I don't necessarily find writing to be difficult, but at the same time I know that my work can be better. I can always learn new things, new techniques to make my writing flawless. Like any writer I get writer's block and when I do my writing isn't as good as it could be. From reading my pieces I frind that my writing, well for school essays and research papers at least my writing tends to be analytical and critical. Two of the difficulties that I have with writing are outlines and rough drafts I don't like them. Personally I think they are a waste of time. Ideas usually run off the top of my head and I write, as the ideas flow I write. I write them in essay format with complete sentence structure and everything, then I go back and change things that I don't like things that could be more profound if said in a different way. I think outlines and drafts slow my process of ideas down, because I thinking about what to write in my outline, and that's hard for me because I have to plan what I'm writing. I feel that I write best when I just feel what I'm writing. I like to think of an essay as piece of clothing; in the morning I wear a look that suites the weather, but also suites my mood for that day. My writing whether informal or formal has to flow with my mood, not saying that if it is formal and I'm angry that paper will have an angry tone it just means that my ideas for a subject has to follow the direction that I'm projecting, that I think it should express. For example poems are easy yet not so easy for me to write. I say this because when I sit down to write a poem usually my best poems come from me being upset or sad or frustrated or angry. Usually my poems when I'm happy or in a good mood are a little sappy. Some can be very good and others total flops. But here is one poems where I was in a good mood, but it took me forever to write because I didn't want it to be bad, I had a great idea for it, but I didn't want it to go left field so I took my time. It is one of my favorite poems that I've written because it speaks volumes about how time can be your bestfriend or your worst enemy.  (My qustion for my essay will be, How can social networks contribute to cyber bullying)

         Timeless
Borrowed time on the wall
Picture perfect in a frame
Tick-Tock screams the clock, while colors begin to fall
Time silences itself as the hands rise to fame
Sychronized in movement yet separately aligned
Put together in this world friends they are, but much more they can be
Time warp bound behind glass slowly moving in a clockwise motion maintaining the flow in which it was designed
The strings of harps sing in the background, even the silencing whisper of the clock is in envy
Wilting black roses collect age
Burning fires die down to a mere flicker
How musically time flies for the song bird finally free from its cage
Smoke turns to embers, turns to flames, turns to fireworks by the only wood that would make it flourish wicker
Separated by the very thing that brings them together
Time's signature kiss
But their timeless friendship holds the key to withstand the weather
A friendship so strong time itself couldn't resist
I'm your diary your my secret; my lips are sealed with a seamless gel
Your my diary I'm your secret; endless friends or more only time can tell.
